Your application should provide us with an in-depth picture of who you are as an individual, both academically and personally. When combined, transcripts, extracurricular activities, recommendations and personal statements provide an overall picture of who you would be an asset in Rhodes community.

History students enrolled at Rhodes can take advantage of a range of opportunities such as honors projects, research fellowships and study abroad programs. Furthermore, music-related events ranging from concerts to trips meeting with leaders of the music industry await them.

Rhodes meets the demonstrated financial need of all accepted international applicants with merit scholarships, which may be used toward tuition, fees, room and board (direct costs) costs as well as tuition itself. Full-time Rhodes students may receive institutional awards up to eight semesters after enrolling.

Each year, approximately seventy five percent of Rhodes students participate in internships across Memphis - making the city an extension of campus and applying classroom knowledge to real world situations while gaining invaluable hands-on experience from top mentors.

Rhodes students go beyond mere volunteerism through experiences like the Kinney Program, Bonner Scholars and City Lynx community service work study program to build meaningful solutions that contribute to a more compassionate and just world. Through such experiences they develop leadership and organizational skills as well as civic commitment and a sense of responsibility.

Admissions

Rhodes College welcomes students from around the globe. Applications to Rhodes must be submitted via the Common App and require official high school transcripts, secondary school reports, teacher evaluations, SAT or ACT test scores (with an accompanying essay), an application essay and personal interviews - in short all elements necessary for acceptance into any selective college such as Rhodes.

Applicant have two options when applying for admission - Early Decision and Regular Admission. Early Decision applicants commit to enroll if admitted and withdraw other college applications if admitted; Regular Admission applicants will receive their admission decisions by April 1.

Students who complete advanced level exams such as British A Level Examinations, French Baccalaureat or German Abitur may be eligible for transfer credit at Rhodes. Any such approval would need to come from the appropriate academic department.

Financial Aid

Students at Rhodes can reduce the cost of their education by applying for merit and need-based scholarships, grants and fellowships. In addition, Rhodes Affiliated Programs provides many specialized off-campus programs.

Undergrads who take out federal loans tend to benefit from lower interest rates and forgiveness options; it is therefore worthwhile analyzing how many students take out private loans as well.

Merit scholarships typically renew every four years while need-based Rhodes grants are reviewed annually. If you plan on taking a gap year or delaying enrollment, be sure to inform both of these departments immediately.

Rhodes students enjoy an extensive support system. With access to student services that cover every academic interest and the campus offering plenty of amenities that cater to everyone, Rhodes students have everything they need for success at college and university.

Rhodes teachers are always genuine in their interest for your academic progress and offer help where possible. Additionally, their response times to emails were much faster than what I experienced at other colleges.

College life at City Tech can be exciting! With an urban setting comes ease in terms of getting involved, as there are numerous student groups and special interest clubs for you to participate in as well as beautiful study areas like our beautiful campus with its wonderful facilities such as Barrett Library.
